Cube Modular to Showcase New Sustainable Event Hotel at The Event Production Show 2022

Cube Modular, part of the Cube International group, will be demonstrating its new Event Hotel and Snoozy Glamping Pods at The Event Production Show 2022.

The Event Hotel is a brand new concept for the 2022 festival season and constructed using the company’s award-winning eco-friendly Continest foldable buildings and wetcell technology. It can accommodate up to 40 people in 20 bedrooms, each with ensuite bathroom; a complete eco-friendly accommodation solution. The entire on-event hotel structure, consisting of twenty CN10 units and ten innovative wetcell dual ensuite bathroom units, is transported on just two trucks, leading to a massive reduction in carbon footprint.

Alongside its unique Event Hotel, Cube is now also offering Snoozy Glamping Pods for event rental. These stylish, lockable cube-shaped units offer secure, luxury sleeping accommodation for festival-goers. The aluminium and steel frame and aircell patented structure folds for storage and transport and features raised flooring, lighting and USB power.

The Event Hotel is the latest addition to Cube’s Continest range of foldable buildings, the most environmentally-friendly event solution which provides robust and scalable buildings for box office, dressing room, staff office, retail, catering and other temporary building needs.

“We are now a one stop temporary accommodation provider for festival and event organisers due to our expanding range of unique building solutions”, said Brandon Weston, MD of Cube Modular. “We offer a complete sustainable event infrastructure, including pop up shops, bar and catering units and offices, as well as our new sleeping units, which are in great demand following a successful inaugural season last year.”

Event organisers renting Continest units for their temporary accommodation building needs can make big savings on transport costs, reduce carbon emissions, and achieve their sustainability goals. Through innovative foldable technology, the units are designed to be folded down and stacked for transport and storage. Ten CN20s (10x20ft) or twenty CN10s (20x10ft) can be transported on a single truck, thus enabling a reduction of CO2 emissions by 80% compared to fixed portable building systems.

Cube Modular is the UK and Ireland’s exclusive distributor of Continest and can be visited at Stand TS01 at The Event Production Show on 8-9 March, ExCel London Exhibition Centre.

Cube celebrates Product Innovation Award win at UK Events Summit

The Cube Modular team celebrated another award win this week, voted on by its event industry peer group. The award was for Best Product Innovation, presented for its Continest range of unique sustainable foldable buildings. The Major Events International (MEI) Awards Dinner took place on 22 February at Emirates Old Trafford on the evening before the UK Events Summit 2022.

Cube’s Continest portable buildings have fast become the go-to solution for events looking to increase their facility capacity in an environmentally conscious way, whilst reducing transport, storage and logistics costs. Folded flat for transport and erected on site in just a few minutes, they provide robust and flexible temporary infrastructure for any venue, enabling events to reduce their CO2 and GHG emissions by up to 80%, compared to using traditional fixed framed cabins.

Cube Modular’s MD Brandon Weston hosted a panel on sustainability during the Summit, which brought together event professionals from across the UK to network with market experts and peers and discuss current challenges.

“Reducing carbon footprint is becoming an increasing focus for event organisers year on year and I’m grateful to our event industry peers for voting for our eco-friendly portable building solution”, commented Brandon. “We had a very interesting discussion on sustainability with a knowledgeable panel.”

Cube’s Continest range of CN10 and CN20 units can be adapted for multiple usages, allowing the delivery of an entire event infrastructure on just two trucks. Eg, 10 CN20 units can be delivered on one truck, including box office, merchandise and food & beverage units, as well as accreditation and production offices. On the second truck, 20 CN10 units can be delivered for use as ticket offices, dressing rooms, radio control, security offices and much more. Units can also be jointed together to create larger open-plan spaces or multi storey buildings – a versatile, complete range of buildings to meet any event’s portable accommodation requirements.

Cube Wins Prestigious Green Supplier Award at Festival Supplier Awards 2022

Last night, the Cube Modular team celebrated its latest accolade after scooping the Green Supplier Award at the Festival Supplier Awards 2022, an event held at London’s exclusive Hurlingham Club.

The award was presented to the team in recognition of its contribution to providing sustainable portable buildings to the UK Festival market after introducing its eco-friendly Continest foldable buildings to the festival industry in 2021, taking the UK festival season by storm! Despite the unique challenges facing all event organisers and suppliers in the current climate, Cube supplied and installed 204 units across 18 festivals between June and September that year. Event organisers chose Cube for the sustainability credentials of its Continest system, coupled with reduced haulage costs.

“The winner of this category has a really exciting and impactful sustainable product for the event industry. It is great to see innovative products like this coming forward!” – the Festival Supplier Awards 2022 judges.

Our unique portable accommodation solution enables festivals to reduce their CO2 and GHG emissions, through the transportation of our portable buildings to their event, by up to 80%, compared to using traditional fixed framed cabins.

“It’s extremely gratifying to see the brilliant Continest foldable cabin system recognised for the drastic cuts in carbon emissions that it achieves,” said Brandon Weston, Cube Modular’s MD. “I’m really proud to see the team’s efforts rewarded too in what was a very challenging season accommodating changing requirements.”

The largest single installation undertaken in 2021 was at Lost Village, where Cube provided a complete staff and production management infrastructure using 52 of its Continest CN20 units. This comprised three ticket offices and a wide range of site, production, operations and management offices, a radio shack, dressing rooms, security cabins, stores and a press office.

Other festivals using Cube Modular products in 2021 included We Out Here, Reading Festival, Wireless, The Cambridge Club and Strawberries and Creem.

The Event Buyers Live conference, where prospective clients pre-book meetings with suppliers whose products they are interested in, saw a fully booked Cube team showcase its modular portable hotel to many curious parties. In fact, due to demand, the team was unable to fit everyone into the conference timeframe, meaning more showings and demonstrations have been booked in the weeks ahead.

Festival and event organisers who did manage to book an appointment to see the team were particularly interested in discussing their sustainability goals for 2022 and finding out how Cube can help to reduce their travel and transport emissions through the use of its foldable containers. Continest’s innovative foldable container technology means just two trucks can deliver an entire 20-bedroom ensuite pop-up hotel to any location, leading to an 80% saving in carbon fuel emissions compared to fixed framed portable buildings.  In addition, an entire event infrastructure consisting of ticket offices, security units, admin offices, merchandise units, bar and catering units as well as accreditations offices, can also be delivered on just two trucks*.

Cube Modular’s charity partner, ecolibrium, also hosted a panel of experts discussing the challenges and looking at strategies for reducing travel carbon emissions at events, focusing on innovation in the supply chain and how stakeholders across the sector can collaborate to create positive change. Brandon Weston, Cube Modular’s Managing Director, was part of this thought-provoking panel, alongside Naomi Lawson (project manager, ecolibrium) and other eminent players in the environmental and events industries.

Brandon Weston, Cube Modular’s MD, said: “We had a very successful time at Event Buyers Live and received some fantastic feedback on the launch of our new event hotel, which will be available for 2022. This event has been a fantastic networking opportunity for developing both new and existing relationships and we very much look forward to working with them all in what is sure to be an exciting year for the event and festival industry.”

We’re delighted to be launching our new sustainable event hotel at the Event Buyers Live conference (EBL), taking place 29th November – 1st December at the De Verre Orchard Hotel, Nottingham.

Branded as ‘The place to do business’, Event Buyers Live offers one-to-one meetings between event organisers and suppliers, and prides itself on a packed educational programme. This year the event will see ecolibrium, Cube Modular’s charity partner, host a panel of experts with a view to tackle the environmental impacts of travel and transport at live events. Brandon Weston, Cube Modular’s MD, will be part of this panel, alongside Naomi Lawson (project manager, ecolibrium) and other eminent players in the environmental and events industries. The panel will discuss the challenges and look at strategies for reducing travel carbon emissions at events, with a focus on innovation in the supply chain and how stakeholders across the sector can collaborate to create positive change.

Cube’s new and innovative sustainable event hotel, available for 2022 events and festivals, will be made using Cube’s market-leading and award-winning Continest foldable containers which can be rapidly deployed to create multi-room staff accommodation complete with en-suite facilities. The insulated buildings can be stacked to form a two-storey hotel, with air conditioning installed where required. A full service and furnishing contract is also offered. Suitable for any large scale event, the hotel is ideal for organisers looking for on-site staff accommodation to reduce travel and transport costs.

Due to Continest’s innovative folding technology, two trucks and a couple of days are all that is needed to transport and build a 20-bedroom pop-up hotel, leading to an 80% saving in carbon fuel emissions upon transport compared to fixed framed portable buildings.

Brandon Weston, Cube Modular MD, said “We are very excited to be showcasing our new sustainable event hotel at the Event Buyers Live this year. It is great to be able to offer this ground-breaking sustainable staff accommodation for the 2022 festival and event season”.
