Cube Opens European Head Office To Deliver Expanding Sports and Events Business
Cube International has recently incorporated Cube Europe in Hungary, as the European hub for its international operations. The announcement coincides with the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the United Kingdom and Hungary. The operational centre will be based in Szekesfehervar, 45 minutes outside of Budapest, alongside the new 4000 sqm Continest manufacturing facility which was recently opened by Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Alongside the launch of Cube Europe, Cube has signed an exclusive Pan European and Scandinavian distributor agreement with Continest, to complement the existing UK and Ireland agreement. The new agreement ensures Cube and Continest are able to fully support the expanding demand for the versatile foldable containers and will enable sport and events to take direct action to cut their carbon footprint in order to make tangible changes in terms of reducing their emissions, not just offsetting.
Cube will be building an international inventory of Continest units in distribution centres around Europe to ensure, where possible, the sustainable solutions are available locally thereby removing the need for substantial haulage.
In support of these developments in Hungary, Cube will be recruiting a team to not only support the operational and logistical programme required for Continest, but will be building a multi-lingual, multi-cultural business centre to further support the operations of the group, including its licensing, merchandise, and retail programmes.
Andy Moss, Cube International’s Chairman, said: “This is a major step forward in the internationalism of our group and, whilst we have for several years serviced major events around the globe, having a European facility, supported by localised facilities in multiple countries, is going to substantially expand our capability and significantly contribute towards our company’s sustainability objectives.
“Hungary has been outstanding in welcoming our company and, together with their continually expanding pool of talented people, it makes a fabulous new home for the business. This exciting new opportunity with Continest is another example of how collaboration and partnership deliver significant results. Together we have reimagined portable modular solutions and have empowered a team to deliver success.”
Ed Boardman, Cube International’s CEO, said: “This is a really exciting development. We look forward to increasing our global reach, leveraging the talented resource available in Budapest and building our digital and technology-based operations. The new agreement with Continest is an endorsement of the work our team at Cube Modular and Cube Management have put in over the past 18 months, developing a substantial fleet of sustainable modular buildings to support the UK sports, event and festival industries. It is their success that has provided Continest with faith and belief in Cube’s capability.”
Brandon Weston, Cube Modular’s MD, said: “We are thrilled to be such a key part of the Continest story of innovation and sustainability and to further the Continest solution in Europe. This is a really exciting opportunity for us and we are looking forward to replicating the successes our partnership has seen in the UK and Ireland.”
István Joó, Hungary’s Deputy State Secretary for Export Development, said: “The cooperation agreement between Continest Technologies and Cube International is of paramount importance for the domestic export market, as it enables another innovative Hungarian product to reach international markets and helps enormously by strengthening Continest’s domestic production. In addition, Cube International arrived in Hungary with several additional plans. The establishment of Cube Europe ltd. also shows that the British company sees significant potential in Hungary to achieve its goals. In the framework of the upcoming ‘Planet Budapest 2021 Sustainability Expo and Summit’, in addition to the manufacturer of the foldable containers, Continest, the Hungarian-based company will also present itself and await those interested with an impressive e-bike project at their joint stand with Continest. I wish the two companies every success in implementing their joint plans!”
Vidor Kis-Márton, Continest’s CEO, said: “Having worked with the Cube International team for the last two years, we’ve been very impressed with how they’ve embraced our brand and how they’ve brought our sustainable portable building solution to many major international events as well as the UK and Ireland market as a whole. Forming a collaboration with Cube to incorporate the whole of the European market was a natural progression which we are very excited about. The fact that Cube has also chosen to base its European office in Hungary is equally exciting. And all that, in a year when the UK and Hungary are celebrating 100 years of diplomatic relations! We can’t wait to see what the future will bring.”
Part of the Cube International group, Cube Modular designs and manufactures modular portable buildings and containers of exceptional design, quality and functionality for sports events, venues, stadia and businesses.
