England Golf Championships to Boost Eco-Credentials with Cube’s Continest Sustainable Buildings

Cube Modular has won a contract to supply its award-winning Continest foldable container buildings to four England Golf championships this season. A total of 18 units will be supplied to championships in England and Scotland between May and August including the European Amateur Team Championship at Royal St George’s Golf Club.

“We’re really looking forward to working with England Golf to minimise the carbon footprint of this season’s events with our unique foldable portable cabins”, said Brandon Weston, MD of Cube Modular. “Our award-winning units provide high quality, versatile buildings that can be folded down and stacked, reducing transport C02 emissions and slashing haulage costs.”

James Crampton, England Golf’s director of championships, commented: “In everything we do as a championships team, the environmental impact of our work is now carefully considered. By choosing Cube Modular for office solutions at several of our key, large-scale events we are going that one step further to make sure that our carbon footprint is as small as possible.”

England Golf’s national amateur squads compete on a world stage and previous alumni include modern-day professionals Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood, Bronte Law and Georgia Hall. The four events Cube will be supplying units to are: the Brabazon Trophy (Saunton Golf Club), European Men’s Team Championships (Royal St George’s Golf Club), English Amateur Championships (men and women at Lindrick and Worksop Golf Clubs) and the English Women’s Stroke Play (Beau Desert Golf Club).

Cube’s Continest CN10 units will provide offices for organisers and staff at each of these championship events. These unique container buildings with patented hinge mechanism are folded flat for storage and transport and then erected in minutes on-site to provide a high quality, robust and versatile temporary infrastructure. They can also be jointed together to create larger open-plan spaces or multi storey buildings.

England Golf is the governing body for the club and amateur game in England and administers the game on behalf of around 1,800 affiliated golf clubs and 647,000 golf club members. The championships team stages over 50 tournaments each season for elite amateur and handicap club golfers.

Cube Expands Its Shop Structures At Lord’s Cricket Ground

Cube has recently installed a new retail structure at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. The new shop, located next to Lord’s East Gate entrance, has replaced the venue’s existing store which was taken down during the stadium’s recent redevelopment.

This is the second ‘pop up’ store Cube has installed at Lord’s, following an 11x6m store installation in 2019 which is situated at Grace Gate.

The latest store, commissioned by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), the owners of Lord’s, provides a fully fitted out store, smaller in size than the previous retail structure, but with the aim to maximise space and give the perception of a larger store. The Cube team installed the store within 5 days.

Created and designed by Cube’s in-house tech team, the 15x7m store includes a metal faced sandwich panel structure, with automatic doors on entrance and exit. A 6m glazed frontage with large shopfront window display and external large format stretch fabric branding completes its exterior.

Internally, the store has been fitted out with a bespoke made mesh & fabric retail display wall, printed to MCC’s new brand colourways for Lord’s to brighten up the corners of the shop; a bespoke till area, including ample cupboard storage; large floor to ceiling picture windows, to break up the rows of merchandise and bring additional light into the shop; as well as full internal electrics, data and air conditioning.

The Cube team, an integrated event services, modular building and sports retail company, offers event and venue infrastructure solutions to many world-renowned venues and events, including F1, UEFA, EURO2020, Sail GP, Formula E World Championship, and the R&A.
