Cube Expands Its Shop Structures At Lord’s Cricket Ground

Cube has recently installed a new retail structure at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. The new shop, located next to Lord’s East Gate entrance, has replaced the venue’s existing store which was taken down during the stadium’s recent redevelopment.

This is the second ‘pop up’ store Cube has installed at Lord’s, following an 11x6m store installation in 2019 which is situated at Grace Gate.

The latest store, commissioned by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), the owners of Lord’s, provides a fully fitted out store, smaller in size than the previous retail structure, but with the aim to maximise space and give the perception of a larger store. The Cube team installed the store within 5 days.

Created and designed by Cube’s in-house tech team, the 15x7m store includes a metal faced sandwich panel structure, with automatic doors on entrance and exit. A 6m glazed frontage with large shopfront window display and external large format stretch fabric branding completes its exterior.

Internally, the store has been fitted out with a bespoke made mesh & fabric retail display wall, printed to MCC’s new brand colourways for Lord’s to brighten up the corners of the shop; a bespoke till area, including ample cupboard storage; large floor to ceiling picture windows, to break up the rows of merchandise and bring additional light into the shop; as well as full internal electrics, data and air conditioning.

EURO2020 – Cube installs the world’s most sustainable portable building solution at venues across Europe

While the world is eagerly awaiting the start of the EURO2020, which will kick off in Rome today, the Cube team have been busy this week building fanstores at many of the tournament’s stadia, venues and fanzones for Euro2020’s official merchandise partner, Fanatics.

Nothing unites a nation more than an international tournament. Postponed from last year, due to the global pandemic, the tournament will be held at 11 European venues, each being staged amid Covid-19 restrictions. From this evening, millions of football and sports fans will be enjoying the spectacle on television, whilst thousands more will be able to watch, and cheer, live from the stands.

SCOPE OF WORK

  • Sustainable transportation of Continest CN20 units
  • Installation of 16 retail fan shops
  • Multiple venues across Europe
  • Full internal shop fit
  • Dedicated EURO2020 fan shop branding

Cube, as the exclusive rights holder for Continest products at all major international events, delivered the units, the world’s most sustainable foldable portable building solution, to each venue on just one truck, including multiple units, roller shutters, shop fittings and equipment. Emphasising Cube’s unrivalled operational and logistical expertise, the units were transported, built, branded and installed at multiple European venues in just a few days. A tight schedule for anyone’s standards, but an especially amazing feat during Covid times!

At each venue, custom made roller shutters, for security and safety, were installed for each retail unit, whilst, externally, dedicated tournament branding was applied. Internally, the retail units were fully kitted out with shop fittings, branding, counters and display units.

The units, ideal for use by any event, whether global or local, looking to meet sustainability targets, bring temporary facilities and accommodation solutions in an easy to set up and environmentally conscious way. Utilising innovative foldable container technology, the flat-packed container units are specifically designed to enable quick and easy transportation, installation and relocation. And, as seen here at The Euros, due to their patented design, multiple units can be transported on a single truck, enabling huge savings on road haulage costs and impressive reductions in carbon emissions. Continest units, whether used as pop-up shops, offices, staff accommodation or catering units, are a foldable building solution which offers an 80% reduction in logistical and storage costs, and a similar reduction in CO2 and GHG emission, compared to fix-framed buildings.
