Cube Modular has acquired Caboose & Co. luxury pop up bedroom suites to further expand its portfolio of modular cabins for event rental. The acquisition of the Caboose & Co. suite of products fits into Cube Modular’s strategy to bring a comprehensive range of event accommodation solutions to the festival and event industry. Caboose & Co. is a well-respected brand with well-designed units manufactured to the highest quality, products that integrate perfectly within Cube’s portfolio. These stylish units bring portable hotel luxury to any event, featuring sun terraces, comfortable beds, showers and flushing toilets, and will appeal to Cube’s existing clients, particularly within the festival sector.

Brandon Weston, Cube Modular’s MD, said: “Bringing the Caboose & Co. products within the Cube group complements our overall modular portable building offering and significantly enhances our capacity to serve our festival and event customers. England Golf Championships to Boost Eco-Credentials with Cube’s Continest Sustainable Buildings

Cube Modular has won a contract to supply its award-winning Continest foldable container buildings to four England Golf championships this season. A total of 18 units will be supplied to championships in England and Scotland between May and August including the European Amateur Team Championship at Royal St George’s Golf Club.

“We’re really looking forward to working with England Golf to minimise the carbon footprint of this season’s events with our unique foldable portable cabins”, said Brandon Weston, MD of Cube Modular. “Our award-winning units provide high quality, versatile buildings that can be folded down and stacked, reducing transport C02 emissions and slashing haulage costs.”

James Crampton, England Golf’s director of championships, commented: “In everything we do as a championships team, the environmental impact of our work is now carefully considered. By choosing Cube Modular for office solutions at several of our key, large-scale events we are going that one step further to make sure that our carbon footprint is as small as possible.”

England Golf’s national amateur squads compete on a world stage and previous alumni include modern-day professionals Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood, Bronte Law and Georgia Hall. The four events Cube will be supplying units to are: the Brabazon Trophy (Saunton Golf Club), European Men’s Team Championships (Royal St George’s Golf Club), English Amateur Championships (men and women at Lindrick and Worksop Golf Clubs) and the English Women’s Stroke Play (Beau Desert Golf Club).

Cube’s Continest CN10 units will provide offices for organisers and staff at each of these championship events. These unique container buildings with patented hinge mechanism are folded flat for storage and transport and then erected in minutes on-site to provide a high quality, robust and versatile temporary infrastructure. They can also be jointed together to create larger open-plan spaces or multi storey buildings.

England Golf is the governing body for the club and amateur game in England and administers the game on behalf of around 1,800 affiliated golf clubs and 647,000 golf club members. The championships team stages over 50 tournaments each season for elite amateur and handicap club golfers.

Cube Wins Prestigious Green Supplier Award at Festival Supplier Awards 2022

Last night, the Cube Modular team celebrated its latest accolade after scooping the Green Supplier Award at the Festival Supplier Awards 2022, an event held at London’s exclusive Hurlingham Club.

The award was presented to the team in recognition of its contribution to providing sustainable portable buildings to the UK Festival market after introducing its eco-friendly Continest foldable buildings to the festival industry in 2021, taking the UK festival season by storm! Despite the unique challenges facing all event organisers and suppliers in the current climate, Cube supplied and installed 204 units across 18 festivals between June and September that year. Event organisers chose Cube for the sustainability credentials of its Continest system, coupled with reduced haulage costs.

“The winner of this category has a really exciting and impactful sustainable product for the event industry. It is great to see innovative products like this coming forward!” – the Festival Supplier Awards 2022 judges.

Our unique portable accommodation solution enables festivals to reduce their CO2 and GHG emissions, through the transportation of our portable buildings to their event, by up to 80%, compared to using traditional fixed framed cabins.

“It’s extremely gratifying to see the brilliant Continest foldable cabin system recognised for the drastic cuts in carbon emissions that it achieves,” said Brandon Weston, Cube Modular’s MD. “I’m really proud to see the team’s efforts rewarded too in what was a very challenging season accommodating changing requirements.”

The largest single installation undertaken in 2021 was at Lost Village, where Cube provided a complete staff and production management infrastructure using 52 of its Continest CN20 units. This comprised three ticket offices and a wide range of site, production, operations and management offices, a radio shack, dressing rooms, security cabins, stores and a press office.

Other festivals using Cube Modular products in 2021 included We Out Here, Reading Festival, Wireless, The Cambridge Club and Strawberries and Creem.

Midlands-based sports and event management business secures £3.75m investment to support new contract wins

Cube International will use the funding from the independent asset manager BOOST&Co to support the delivery of new projects and increase its headcount

The sports and event management business Cube International has secured an investment of £3.75m from the alternative funder BOOST&Co following a series of new account wins. The funding, which will be used to underpin the delivery and management of its new projects, will also help to support its work with future new clients, not least by creating a significant number of jobs.

The Midlands-based company, which has extensive experience in sports retail merchandising, creates and manages pop-up merchandising structures for events and supports its partners’ planning and implementation of experiential campaigns.

The firm recently secured some major contracts, becoming an official partner of both the Commonwealth Games and the Rugby League World Cup, as well as  being the ecommerce partner of the Aston Martin Cognizant Formula 1 Team and the Solheim Cup 2023. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Cube International provided testing facilities at sites including Heathrow Airport, NHS hospitals, supermarkets and nursing homes.

BOOST&Co has chosen to work with Cube International because the company has a strong management team with long-time experience of this industry. The lender was also impressed by the firm’s successful navigation of the pandemic. By combining its core skills of event management and temporary structure planning, the business was able to support Covid-19 testing, which has led to a sharp increase in new work.

BOOST&Co is a leading provider of growth capital for innovative, fast-growing UK SMEs.

The independent asset manager offers loans ranging from £1m to £10m, covering a wide range of sectors, with a strong track record in technology, media and telecommunications (TMT). It has funded more than £500m across more than 130 deals to date and provided close to £200m under the government’s CBILS initiative to support SMEs during Covid-19.

Chris Mears, principal at BOOST&Co, says: “Cube International is a professional and agile business with a client list full of household names.

“Its team has responded magnificently to the challenges of the pandemic, playing a vital role in providing Covid-19 protection and testing facilities to key services including hospitals, airports and supermarkets – actions that helped to keep the country running.

“This funding package will support the firm’s continued growth in event management, as it delivers a number of major and high-profile contracts during the next few years. It has been a pleasure to work with this excellent management team.”

Ed Boardman, chief executive at Cube International, says: “Chris Mears and Cassandra Pillay at BOOST&Co worked hard to quickly understand our business. They immediately gained our confidence and the speed of execution was impressive.

“This funding will enable us to continue the strong growth of our business, with some exciting projects on the horizon.”

Hugo Chance of Chance Capital, who advised on the deal, says: “It was a pleasure to be taken on by Cube International, a multifaceted business with an impressive management team, as exclusive advisor on their fundraising. We quickly secured interest from a number of lenders, but decided that BOOST&Co was best aligned to the firm’s requirements.

We were delighted to co-ordinate and complete a facility that will enable the firm to fulfil a number of key growth plans. The team at BOOST&Co was a pleasure to work with and we look forward to future collaborations.”
