We’re thrilled to be in collaboration with Hallmarq to deliver an all-time first state-of-the-art modular building, with a standing leg CT scanner for horses, to Valley Equine Hospital in Berkshire.

With a substantial caseload of thoroughbred horses, Valley Equine Hospital is now poised to revolutionise the early identification of distal limb pathology through the utilisation of this advanced diagnostic tool within a portable building.

The introduction of a standing CT scanner within a portable structure offers numerous advantages over previous methods. CT scanning provides a wealth of information that surpasses the capabilities of radiography. It also reduces radiation exposure to staff. Furthermore, scanning is considerably quicker, enabling prompt diagnosis and treatment planning.

With easy installation, the Cube x Hallmarq modular diagnostic room can be set up in any location and, once installed, is ready for immediate use. The standing equine leg CT offers safe scanning, with an easy entry and exit system, without the need for general anaesthesia. Full ongoing support is also provided from the team at Hallmarq to ensure maximum use of the facility, including staff training.

A Safer Alternative

Valley Equine Hospital, with a substantial caseload of thoroughbred horses, chose the Hallmarq standing CT scanner, due to its ability to scan using just standing sedation. This ensures a safer and more efficient experience for the horses when compared to general anaesthesia. By working closely with Hallmarq’s training team, the veterinary professionals at Valley Equine hospital are actively optimising sedation techniques and patient positioning to achieve the best possible results.

Tom McParland, Valley Equine Hospital’s surgeon, expressed his enthusiasm for the new device, stating: “The installation of the Hallmarq standing CT scanner is a fantastic addition to our hospital. We are confident that this diagnostic modality will significantly enhance our ability to identify not just thoroughbred fetlock pathology earlier but improve our diagnostic abilities of the distal limb for all our equine patients, racing, and leisure alike.”

The portable Hallmarq standing CT scanner unit is set to revolutionise the equine world with many more units set to be installed at veterinary hospitals across the globe.

National Pilot Large-scale Nightclub Event Boosts Eco Credentials with Cube Modular’s Foldable Buildings

We’re delighted to be supporting the national pilot return to live music events. Our foldable buildings from Continest were used as box offices and stand alone offices for the May Bank Holiday test nightclub event at Liverpool’s Bramley-Moore Dock.

The Cube team also supplied mobile hand sanitising walls with gel dispensers to both the Bramley-Moore Dock event and the Sefton Park Music Festival pilot organised by Festival Republic.

6,000 clubbers attended ‘The First Dance’ test nightclub event with no masks or social distancing at Bramley-Moore Dock warehouse on Friday 30 April and Saturday 1 May. The Sefton Park pilot open air music festival event featured bands Blossoms, The Lathums and Liverpool singer-songwriter Zuzu.

Continest’s innovative foldable buildings allow 10 x 20ft cabins (CN20s) or 20 x 10ft cabins (CN10s) to be transported on one truck, which offers an impressive 80% saving in CO² emissions compared to a fixed cabin system. The units are also made from 70% recycled materials, whilst the units’ innovative building technology enables both its CN10 and CN20 units to be jointed together to provide scalable buildings. With environmental sustainability a priority for event organisers, our foldable buildings are here to help achieve that goal.

The Bramley-Moore Dock event benefited from a support infrastructure consisting of:

CN10s

  • Six window Box Office made up of three jointed CN10 units
  • 40” Production office made up of four jointed CN10 units
  • Accreditation Office
  • Cash Office

CN20s

  • 4 Dressing Rooms
  • 2 Staff Production Offices
  • 1 Site Office
  • 1 Office for COVID medical expert

Cube’s XXL Hand sanitising walls and gel were also supplied to the Bramley-Moore Dock event and the Sefton Park Music Festival.

Cube Modular’s unique and ecofriendly Continest modular buildings were recently used at Bovington Studios near London during the filming of a new comedy series. The production team of ‘Man vs Bee’ starring Rowan Atkinson, welcomed nine of the company’s modular foldable containers at the studios, where they were utilized as offices and welfare units.

Continest containers’ innovative foldable design technology makes its units the most mobile and environmentally friendly portable buildings in the modular accommodation industry. Due to the containers’ patented design, 10 units can be transported on a single truck, offering huge savings on road haulage costs and impressive reductions in carbon emissions. The units are also uniquely developed for quick and easy set up; a foldable solution offering an 80% cut in logistical and storage costs, and a similar reduction in CO2 and GHG emissions. For the Housesitter Productions team, the production company responsible for the new series, the units offered the perfect solution to help meet their sustainability targets.

The series Man vs Bee sees Rowan Atkinson at war with a bee while housesitting a luxurious mansion and will be streaming on Netflix later in the year.

Care Home Delight As Visitor Pod Is Installed

Cube Modular has delivered one of its Covid-secure care home visitor pods to Blackpool to the delight of everyone at Annacliffe Residential Care Home. The guest pod, branded as the Visitor Hub, was installed at the forecourt of the residential home and will reunite residents and loved ones, in person in the same room, for the very first time since the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Annacliffe, a residential home which provides professional care in a most attentive and family-orientated environment to approximately 60 residents, has described the arrival of its visitor pod as a ‘ray of sunshire’. The visitor pod will enable them to bring together their residents with family and friends in a controlled, relaxed and covid-secure setting.

Owner and Manager, Alexandra Burke, commented: “We are absolutely delighted for our residents. Finally, after months of uncertainty and anxiety for our wonderful, but infection-vulnerable, residents, we are able to offer them a space, a totally separate space, in which they can meet their family and loved ones in person. No more waving through windows. No more wordless meetings. I am so delighted for them all, as well as for their families and our staff. Cube Modular has given us the perfect solution to continue through these most worrying times. I couldn’t be more pleased to have been able to make this happen for everyone involved. The pod really has brought a ray of sunshine to our residents.”

Brandon Weston, Cube Modular’s MD, added: “We are thrilled to have made this possible for everyone at Annacliffe. When we arrived to install the pod, the excitement was palpable. The look on everyone’s faces said it all!

“The response to our Care Home Visitor Pods initiative has been immense. We are delighted that we can offer care homes a unique, portable building solution which not only enables a personal and controlled contact between care home residents and loved ones during the pandemic, but also does so in a most safe, secure, and risk-mitigating way. We are looking forward to installing many more at care homes across the UK.”

Through utilising the Visitor Hub, Annacliffe is now able to organise scheduled visitor bookings for guests every hour. Each visit will be take place for 20 minutes, followed by a rigorous cleaning procedure for 40 minutes before the next visit is due.

After months of lockdown, shielding and protection of the UK’s elderly care home residents, Cube’s Care Home Visitor Pods are a portable building solution, which not only helps mitigate the spread of the virus, it also brings back a little joy, comfort and security to those who need it most.

Cube Modular’s Visitor Pods are a modular foldable container solution for Care Homes in the UK. Fully flexible in size, configuration and internal fit-out, units are available on both a hire and purchase basis.
