RLWC2021 marks 200 Days to Go with new campaign – This is Real Impact
Rugby League World Cup (RLWC2021) has today launched its new campaign ‘This is Real Impact’ officially marking 200 days until the biggest and best RLWC2021 arrives in England later this year. The event, which will officially open on 15 October, is set to make a huge impact across the nation, welcoming the world’s best teams and galvanising civic pride in England’s towns and cities.
The RLWC2021 is the pinnacle major event of rugby league, globally contested every four years. This year’s event will be a breakthrough moment in the tournament’s history with the men’s, women’s and wheelchair competitions being staged together for the first time.
Working in collaboration with the RLWC2021 team, the entire Cube International group, including Cube Partnership, Cube Management and Cube Modular will be working collaboratively to install, operate and manage bespoke official merchandise stores at each of the 61 matches across the men’s, women’s and wheelchair tournaments.
The three tournaments will take place across 21 venues throughout England. Both the women’s and wheelchair competitions will be contested by two groups of four teams, whilst the men’s tournament will see 16 teams compete across four groups.
Cube Partnership, RLWC2021’s Official Retail Partner has designed and operates the official RLWC2021 online store, which was launched last year. The official online store has proven to be a world class ecommerce service, offering fans a comprehensive range of exciting merchandise for the biggest and best RLWC2021 in history. Cube will also manage the retail operation at all matches and venues.
Retail stores will be provided by Cube Modular, the portable building division of the Cube group, including Continest containers, the world’s most sustainable, foldable container, a product that offers an impressive 80% CO2 emissions reduction against standard container use. The Continest stores will be installed at the venues by the Cube Management team, a well-established event operations and services business, which also works in a wide range of other sports including F1, NFL, UEFA, cricket and golf.
The Women’s Sports Alliance, a global story telling platform, also part of the Cube International group, will be working closely with RLWC2021 to bring to light some of the most inspirational female player journeys to the World Cup. With behind the scenes access, courtesy of RLWC2021, to some of the most exciting players and coaches, the WSA will build hype not only around the teams, but the tournament as a whole, including championing the inclusivity element of the tournament through film, photography and journalistic means.
Cube’s RLWC2021 Business Director, Andy Smith, said: “The entire Cube team is delighted to be working with RLWC2021 and we are looking forward to bringing our exciting products and stories, and a great retail and fan experience for spectators and fans attending and watching the RLWC2021. It’s going to be a great spectacle!”
To celebrate 200 Days to Go, RLWC2021 are offering fans a limited period ticket upgrade offer. Fans will be able to purchase a Category C ticket and be automatically upgraded to a Category B ticket.
As part of the celebrations, RLWC2021 will take the three Men’s, Women’s and Wheelchair World Cup trophies to all 17 host cities and towns in a whirlwind 48-hour cross-country tour. Fans can follow the Trophies Tour live on RLWC2021’s official social media channels Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, with access to exclusive content including interviews, tour snaps and behind-the-scenes footage.
The RLWC2021 is set to be the most visible rugby league event in history with all 61 games in the men’s, women’s and wheelchair competitions being broadcast live on the BBC.
