CARE HOME VISITOR PODS

From the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, Cube Modular has spent a lot of time building and delivering visitor pods to care homes in almost every corner of the UK, including Wales where 33 pods were rented for six months under a Welsh government scheme which enabled care homes to offer COVID-secure visits in a comfortable setting outside their main buildings.

The stand-alone care home visitor pods, a Cube initiative, have all been built to meet government criteria, including two separate entrances, wipeable flooring and a floor-to-ceiling screen partition inside.

Three different models have been made available, all of which include ceiling lights, electric heaters, power sockets and a speaker and microphone system with hearing loop:

FP10D Pod: Where space isn’t an issue, our 6m long FP10D offers the most generous proportions.

SVP Purpose Built: Our bespoke SVP pod can be configured with alternative door positioning to suit differing layouts of care home sites.

GRP35 Pod: The most recent GRP model is also the smallest, with 2.2m width instead of 2.4m. If access is an issue it can be assembled on site.

Before delivery, Cube’s pods have were treated with an anti-microbial coating covering internal surfaces to give additional COVID-19 protection for a minimum of three months.

In many cases, following the initial rental period, care homes purchased or extended the rental of their pods, re-purposing them for professional appointments such as podiatry, or as therapy rooms, garden sitting rooms etc.

'DON'T PASS IT ON!' HAND SANITISER STATIONS

Cube’s ‘Don’t Pass It On!’ hand sanitiser stations have provided many public venues with a simple method to support hand sanitation and help mitigate the spread of Coronavirus. Initiated by Cube at the beginning of 2020, when Covid-19 was posing a world-wide threat but no lockdowns had been announced, the hand sanitiser stations were first trialled and tested in March at Twickenham for the Six Nations Championship and at Cheltenham Racecourse for The Festival. Many enquiries followed since, which resulted, and continues to do so, in Cube’s hand sanitiser units being deployed at venues across the UK, including sports stadiums and clubs, festivals, exhibition centres, hospitals, airports, supermarkets and many other businesses and organisations.

*Update (Jan 2022)

With hand hygiene still considered the single most important method of preventing cross infection, we have seen an unprecedented demand for our hand sanitiser station initiative during the past two years. Our initial stations are still widely used at many well-known venues. We have also designed, manufactured and sourced other hand sanitiser products which have been proven equally popular. Whilst the coronavirus pandemic is still very much a threat across the world, we’re delighted we are able to continue to offer hand sanitising solutions to venues and event organisers across the globe together with our award-winning and sustainable portable building solutions.
