WORLD BREASTFEEDING WEEK 2021
World Breastfeeding Week 2021
To mark World Breastfeeding Week 2021, Cube Modular brought its first MumPod® to Midsummer Place shopping centre in Milton Keynes. The MumPod®, a new concept designed to give new parents the option to go somewhere private and peaceful to express, breastfeed or care for their baby whilst on the go, was installed on behalf of client MumPod® Company Limited (MPCL).
MumPods are an idea borne by breast feeding expert, Rosamund McFadden, MD of MPCL, who spotted a gap in the market to create supportive, enabling environments for pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers. Designed, manufactured, and delivered by Cube Modular, the MumPod® in Milton Keynes will be available for use throughout the week.
The self-contained MumPod® unit features easy-to-clean surfaces, comfortable seating and an extendable footrest, a drop-down table, charger points, a handsfree sanitiser station, a secure locking mechanism and housing for a milk fridge.
Ahead of its arrival, Rosamund said: “I’m so excited to finally be able to unveil the new MumPod®. Having worked closely with parents and employers over the years, in my roles as both midwife and lactation consultant, it became very apparent to me that there is a severe shortage of places for parents to breastfeed or express, whether at work or out and about.”
World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) occurs annually on the first week of August and represents a global celebration of breastfeeding efforts including breastfeeding promotion, support, education, research, progressive trends and normalising breastfeeding as the gold standard of infant nutrition.
Customers will find the MumPod® on the Boulevard outside the Wrapchic and Souv-lucky Day eateries until Saturday 7 August 2021.
Cube Modular designs and manufactures modular portable buildings and containers of exceptional design, quality and functionality for sports events, venues, stadia and businesses.
