Cube installs visitor hub at prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show

The Cube team, a joint project for Cube Modular and Cube Management, was delighted to bring its sustainable portable building solution and accomplished installation skills to London at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show this year.

Utilising the world’s most sustainable temporary portable accommodation buildings as an info centre, enabled the show to boost its eco-credentials and bring added sustainability to the event.

Folded flat, stacked for transport and erected on site, Cube’s innovative Continest units provide robust and flexible temporary infrastructure for any venue, enabling events to reduce their CO2 and GHG emissions by up to 80%, compared to using traditional fixed framed portable buildings.

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show, the world’s greatest flower show, held most years since 1913, returned in Spring 2022 to great acclaim with stunning garden designs and gorgeous floral displays. Organised by The Royal Horticultural Society, the UK’s leading gardening charity with an aim to enrich people’s lives through plants and make the UK a greener and more beautiful place, the show was once again held in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London.

Cube’s brief was to design and install a bespoke unit for the RHS to create an area for visitor information and RHS Members. Utilising two of our sustainable foldable Continest CN20 pop-up buildings, we installed a bespoke unit, including ramps and handrails for accessibility as well as vinyl wrap with wood effect sides and headers in Royal Chelsea purple to fit in with the aesthetics of the show.

The information centre, located at the main entrance, was a showcase piece, with green carpet installed throughout, and partition walls to divide the unit into 4 areas: two for stock and two utilised as front of house areas. Lockable doors and a roller shutter at the front were added for extra security. The project took just one day to install, despite the challenging logistics of having to make the walling carpet and ramps on site.
